Our second installment of the webisode series “The Lake” features three riders; Jeffrey Conway, Hunter Simpson, and Alex Schrage. These Tahoe riders are full of talent and we can’t wait to film more with them later on in the season! Enjoy!

The first installment of our season long series “The Lake,” featuring various riders around the Lake Tahoe area. We were lucky to spend one hour with Jeff at Northstar resort last weekend! Enjoy!
As the website states, “ ’96 Legend Films is a small film company from the Bay Area, focusing in on the sport of freestyle skiing.” Sophomores Colin Johnson and Johnny Wilson, along with Freshman Jack Marren took their hobby to a new level. “We always like to go up to Tahoe and film us skiing, and I wanted to start making money with it,” said Johnson, “so I took filming and editing lessons for three years, and then people started paying me to make them promotional videos.” After filming multiple events, Johnson realized his true calling was mainly skiing videos
’96 Legends has grown from solely a film company, to selling apparel and also sponsoring skiers. As of now the company, or team, has six riders from all over the country and Canada. Their newest rider, Kyle Lanham, is the 2011 USASA National Champ in the 20 and over division. Other riders include Marren himself, and Chris Weir, a sophomore at Bellarmine.
As the days go on, ’96 Legend Films grows as a company and a team. A new clothing line is soon to surface, as well as occasionally funding new riders. Wilson verbalized his aspirations, “I want ’96 Legend Films to progress into a legitimate ski company that will sponsor and film professional athletes and make a profit from it.” Visit them online at 96legendfilms.com.
